Role summary: The Director of Software Engineering – Payroll leads the design, execution, and modernization of Walmart’s enterprise payroll ecosystem. The role oversees payroll operations for 1.6 million associates across multiple regions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and system integrity. It drives the transformation of legacy INFOR systems to modern SAP and cloud architectures while maintaining uninterrupted operations. The Director sets payroll technology strategy, manages cross‑functional teams, and ensures alignment with regulatory requirements and enterprise platforms to deliver scalable, secure, and future‑ready payroll capabilities.
