Your Opportunity:

The Acute Geriatric Unit (AGU) at the RGH provides comprehensive care to frail older adults with complex medical needs requiring rehabilitation in an acute care setting. Working under general supervision, the Unit Clerk serves as the point of first contact to the nursing unit. This position performs a variety of general reception/clerical duties.

These duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining patient records and documents; paper and electronic.
• Performing admission, discharge, and transfer functions in Connect Care.
• Coordinating activities/appointments with other departments.
• Coordinating internal and external transportation of patients and equipment.
• Requisitions services and appointments from other departments.
• Answering telephone calls, patient call bell system and monitoring patient access.
• Faxing of information to related departments.
