Job Description
Transportation Operator – Sudbury, Ontario
Unionized (L6500) permanent on‑site position. Shift schedule may be days only or rotating days and nights.
Responsibilities
- Operate site vehicles to transport personnel, ore, and materials across surface routes while maintaining control in rough terrain and variable conditions.
- Complete safety inspections by performing thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip checks on brakes, tires, fluids, and safety systems and reporting any hazards immediately.
- Follow site protocols by adhering to Vale traffic rules, PPE requirements, hazard‑control procedures, and environmental standards during all transportation tasks.
- Coordinate with dispatch through radio or digital systems to communicate route changes, load movements, and task updates that support efficient workflow.
