Enhance your skills with the City of Vernon as a Temporary Trades Assistant. This full-time role focuses on building maintenance, repairs, and grounds upkeep.
Reporting to the Manager of Building Services, this position supports regular maintenance of buildings and systems. You'll assist with HVAC servicing, plumbing, and general repairs, as well as operate a City vehicle for transportation of tools. Candidates should possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and at least one year of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with construction and building repairs
• Operate a City vehicle for repairs and maintenance
• Help relocate office furniture when needed
• Purchase necessary materials for tasks
• Provide assistance during emergency services
Requirements:
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Minimum one year experience in building maintenance
• Able to submit to a Criminal Records check
