Position Overview
An opportunity exists for a caring, dedicated, and resilient teacher to join the Herald School community as a full‑time temporary teacher. The role is part of the Division's Specialized Programs and will begin in the 2026‑2027 school year. The teacher will be responsible for programming students with specialized medical, cognitive, and/or behavioural needs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Programming for students with diverse and complex needs
- Understanding of complex communication needs and use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices (e.g., Proloquo2Go, NovaChat)
- Knowledge of specialized strategies and supports
- Ability to implement inclusive practices, differentiated instruction, and life skills programming
- Experience implementing a life skills curriculum focused on functional literacy, numeracy, and adaptive/daily living skills
