About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Technical Officer to join the STEM College at a leading University, based at our Bundoora East campus. This role is pivotal to the operation of our Materials and Structural Engineering laboratories, supporting a range of teaching, research, and industry-focused projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Operations: Coordinate the day-to-day running of Heavy Structures and Materials labs, ensuring they are ready for teaching and research activities.
- Technical Support: Assist with specimen preparation (concrete, asphalt, cementitious materials), testing, curing, and storage.
- Asset Management: Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; develop preventative maintenance programs.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all lab activities adhere to strict safety protocols, including the development of risk assessments and safe work instructions.
