Organizational Context and Scope

IOM Philippines implements a range of projects requiring engineering expertise, primarily in the context of disaster risk reduction and management and supporting climate‑resilient shelter solutions. This includes a project focused on establishing a diaspora‑guaranteed microfinance model for safe shelters. The project aims to facilitate collaboration with the private sector and affected populations to solve complex humanitarian challenges. IOM also supports the Philippines’ Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development in its leadership and implementation roles of the Shelter Cluster under the Early Recovery and Response Pillar of the country’s disaster risk reduction and management system.
