Component Engineer

Component Engineer – sources, selects, and qualifies components used in the company’s technology. Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability. Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources.

Responsibilities

• Investigate alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implement changes.
• Develop guidelines/procedures on vendor selection.
• Evaluate supplier change notifications and qualify changes, as needed.
• Maintain component data management system including qualification records, results, and documentation.

Education & Experience

• Typically requires a technical Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
• Both mechanical and electrical background.
