ecobee is a company that manufactures smart Wi‑Fi thermostats and related connected‑home technology. We are hiring a Staff Hardware Engineer in Toronto, Canada, with a remote option in the US.
As a Staff Hardware Engineer, you will lead the development of electrical products from concept to production, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and compliance.
Project Leadership
- Lead technical execution for electrical and system design through EVT, DVT, PVT, and MP phases.
- Partner closely with design, manufacturing, embedded, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve cross‑functional trade‑offs.
- Influence technical plans, risk management, and execution priorities for complex NPI programs.
Design for Excellence (DfX)
- Contribute to and help shape architecture‑level decisions for new product designs.
