Job Description
The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and will assist the finance team in preparing month‑end reconciliations, processing payroll, reviewing financial statements against budgets, cost analysis and other ad hoc projects. They will support the maintenance of the general ledger and the monthly accounting cycle. Knowledge of US and/or Canadian GAAP and an ability to adhere to all internal standards is required. This position ensures that accounting transactions are properly recorded, posted, processed, and reported for accurate presentation of the financial statements; responds to internal escalations and ensures compliance with internal financial and accounting controls; helps coordinate activities that support the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, and monitors general ledger maintenance and monthly accounting processing activities to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
