Course Description

The course, CIVENG 4G04 – Pavement Materials and Design, covers components of highway pavements, groundwater and drainage for highway facilities, soil compaction and stabilization, aggregates, bituminous materials, asphalt mix design, flexible and rigid pavement design, and embankment design. The course consists of three lectures, one tutorial (two hours), and one lab (three hours) in a single term.

Responsibilities

The sessional faculty member will deliver lectures, facilitate tutorials and lab sessions, prepare lecture slides and lab materials, assess student performance, and support course grading as required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (PhD preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of pavement materials, design, and related topics.
• Proven experience teaching undergraduate engineering courses.
• Professional Engineering registration is an asset.
