Job Description
This is a dual-platform engineering role for a Senior Specialist Unix Engineer acting as principal subject-matter expert and technical authority for IBM AIX (on IBM Power) and Oracle Solaris (SPARC / x86). The engineer develops the digital strategy and future-oriented architecture for the Unix platform, owns the automation, Everything-as-Code and software-architecture direction, leads modernization, and directs and mentors other engineers.
Responsibilities
At this level the engineer owns the strategy, architecture and engineering standards behind the following, and acts as the principal technical authority:
- Development and implementation of digital strategies; ensuring the core infrastructure of products, services, processes and systems; consistent introduction of innovative technologies and expansion of the use of digital channels.
- Apply and further develop the competencies required to build new, future-oriented digital architecture.
