Job Description
The Senior Grid System Design Engineer is the technical Gatekeeper for our BESS pipeline. This role carries dual responsibility: performing the advanced mathematical simulations required for TNB approval and acting as the primary technical auditor for BESS and PPC hardware suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- BESS Dynamic Modeling: Develop site-specific BESS models including Inverters (PCS), Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Power Plant Controllers (PPC). You must accurately model GridForming (GFM) logic, Virtual Inertia, and sub-50ms Fast Frequency Response (FFR).
- Supplier Technical Auditing: Critically review BESS and PPC supplier proposals. Verify if their stated ramp rates, Round Trip Efficiency (RTE), and control loop latencies are mathematically achievable and compliant with TNB requirements.
