Job Description
Senior Designer, Development (Electrical) – Key Responsibilities
- Understand design requirements including business needs, customer discussions, internal standards, and industry regulations and propose product definition
- Solve technical problems including conflicting requirements, system reliability, cost constraints, and manufacturability challenges
- Mitigate risks through failure mode analysis, risk assessment, design adjustments, and validation test planning
- Ensure machinery safety and electrical safety are addressed following North American and International standards
- Lead the design of complete systems for automated machinery
- Bring expertise in electrical design to the team
- Power system sizing and protection, servo system selection and sizing, control circuit design, 3D modeling of electrical equipment and cables on the machine, and in cabinets
