About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and nurturing primary school in Wakefield, starting April 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract. You will be supporting Year 2, providing a mix of whole‑class support, 1:1 behaviour support, and small‑group intervention work. The school is well‑known for its warm, inclusive ethos and strong commitment to helping every child thrive. Interviews will be held w/c 8th December – early applications are strongly encouraged.
Key responsibilities
- Provide whole-class learning support across Year 2.
- Deliver 1:1 behaviour support to identified pupils.
- Lead and assist with targeted intervention groups.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Support the school’s inclusive values and create a positive learning environment.
