School Support Counsellor

Full-time Counselors, Social Workers, and Other Community and Social Service Specialists

POSITION SUMMARY

: The School Support Counsellor will provide school-based prevention and intervention services in elementary or secondary schools to address social/emotional and behavioural barriers to learning. Incumbents will be assigned to a caseload at the elementary, secondary, or alternative school level.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Completion of a three (3) year Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Work or equivalent. A minimum of one (1) year experience providing counselling services to children or adolescents, and families.
