Description
:The Scenic Carpenter will assist the Technical Direction team in constructing, installing, and dismantling scenery for all Mainstage productions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proficiency in the safe operation of power tools, scenic theatrical carpentry, and theatrical rigging.As part of the Performance Services department, the Scenic Carpenter reports to the Technical Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Performs preventive maintenance on equipment
● Mentor student workers as applicable to the tasks at hand
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scene shop and associated workspaces
● Participate in all load-ins, changeovers, and strikes throughout the contract period
