Overview

We are seeking a master's student in the final stages of studies or a recent graduate in geodesy or geoinformatics for a fixed-term position at the Geodesy and Geodynamics Department (GEOGEO) of the National Land Survey of Finland (NLS). The position is available from September 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, or as agreed.

Educational Requirements

Suitable educational background includes geoinformatics or statistics, but other relevant fields will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop an overview of the accuracy of national reference systems, their connection to European and international systems, and key development directions in Finland and comparison countries through literature review.
• Prepare and conduct surveys to gather information from municipalities, cities, authorities, and private operators about their experiences with reference systems.
• Analyze survey results and report findings clearly.
