The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a Research Assistant to support the UAEU Start-up Research project titled Next-Generation Toroidal Propeller Systems: Computational Design and Experimental Validation for UAV Applications. The research assistant will contribute to computational and experimental research on toroidal propellers for UAV applications. Duties may include CAD development, meshing, ANSYS Fluent CFD simulations, aeroacoustic prediction, 3D printing of propeller prototypes, thrust‑rig testing, flow visualization, acoustic measurements, data analysis, literature review, and preparation of journal and conference outputs. Two focus areas are available: (1) CFD modelling and aeroacoustic prediction; and (2) experimental testing, instrumentation, flow visualization, and acoustic analysis.
