Summary of Duties

RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents within a Primary Nursing care delivery model within their scope of practice. The RPN supports the philosophy of Patient‑Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with the Interprofessional Team.

Qualifications/Skills

• Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration

• Current B.C.L.S

• Diploma RPN or equivalent

• Patient and Family focused care philosophy required

• Experience in Long Term Care required

• Recent nursing experience in gerontology

• Experience with dementia preferred

• Psychogeriatric experience a definite asset

• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
