Job Overview
The Quality Control Inspector reports directly to the Operations Manager and will perform produce inspections, support the ripening team, and ensure compliance with CFIA/USDA standards. The role requires early morning shifts (as early as 3:00AM) and occasional evenings, weekends, and travel to the Ontario Food Terminal. Primary work is at 302 Dwight Avenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enforce Gambles’ quality specifications
- Perform and report quality assessments during live inbound receiving
- Follow up on received items that have been put‑away but not quality‑controlled
- Conduct outbound quality control checks for select customers
- Fulfill quality reporting requests (photos, weight, size, average counts, etc.)
- Review daily cooler checklist to identify and report sub‑par product for disposition
- #2/Rejection/Return assessment, reporting, and handling (transfers, RTS coordination)
