Position Summary
The Purchasing Manager will lead and support their team of Buyers to ensure that they meet their goals and continuously improve their performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team of Buyers (8–10) in Mexicali.
- Set performance goals for the Buyers and establish action plans to meet them.
- Manage the regional Buyer team including coaching, training, resource allocation, PTO, and HR systems maintenance.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for expediting critical shortages for Operations.
- Lead lean, cost‑saving, and continuous improvement projects related to purchasing, space optimization, and inbound freight costs as required.
- Recommend ideas that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team to the Director, Americas Purchasing.
- Review all purchase orders that require approval per Vertiv procedures to ensure SOX compliance.
