Job Description

Purpose:

To assist other Process Improvers in the Hot End and oversee / continuously improve the daily operations of the Furnace and critical support systems including, but not limited to, Batch Plant and Cullet Systems, Furnace, Bath and Lehr while assuring optimal life of Hot End assets in a cost-effective manner.

Essential Functions:

  • To instigate studies and actions to overcome quality and safety problems, to reduce waste and improve team performance.

  • Provides engineering analysis, evaluation and coordination on the operation of Hot End projects which will allow the plant to maximize yields, product quality and meet budgeted costs.

  • Assist with forecasts of various Hot End raw material requirements based on Furnace draw rates, and cullet ratios.

  • Assure Hot End raw material vendor COA’s meet specifications to assure compliant raw materials.
