Job Description
Principal Protection & Control Engineer - Transmission & Substations Contract (Outside IR35) £86-90 per hour Glasgow (Hybrid / Site Visits) Immediate Start RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead protection & control design for high-voltage substation and transmission projects. Approve protection schemes, relay settings, and technical designs. Review and sign off detailed substation protection packages (up to 400kV). Carry out protection coordination and fault level studies. Review vendor documents, specifications, and technical submissions. Support design from early stage through to commissioning. Provide technical input during construction and site activities. Ensure compliance with UK standards, CDM regulations, and client requirements. Lead engineering delivery on complex substation projects. Provide quality assurance and technical governance across deliverables. Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
