Overview

The Earth System Services Group (ESS) within the Earth Sciences Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC‑CNS) researches the impact of weather, atmospheric chemistry and climate on socio‑economic sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, water resources, urban development and climate risk management. The role focuses on developing next‑generation climate services, with a primary emphasis on renewable energy while supporting agriculture and water management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead user‑oriented research in climate services.
• Post‑process climate predictions to develop climate‑services products.
• Design and implement automated workflows for data loading, post‑processing, evaluation, visualization and storage, following coding standards and testing practices, and deployable on HPC systems.
