Job Description
Perform comprehensive overnight polysomnography studies on adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout the study.
Apply electrodes utilizing the International 10-20 System or department-approved standards.
Monitor and acquire physiologic data throughout the sleep study while maintaining patient safety.
Recognize and respond appropriately to clinical events, equipment issues, and patient needs.
Scoring & Data Analysis
Score and interpret sleep studies, MSLTs, and MWTs in accordance with AASM guidelines.
Identify and document sleep stages, respiratory events, cardiac rhythms, limb movements, and other physiological parameters.
Distinguish artifact from physiological data and take appropriate corrective action.
