Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lay out reference points and patterns.
- Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements.
- Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
- Weld or bolt sections together.
- Construct patterns and templates.
- Install fabricated components in final product.
- Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite.
Qualifications
- Education: Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
- Experience: 2 to less than 3 years in structural metal or steel fabrication.
- Welding techniques: MIG, TIG, Flux core arc welding (FCAW), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
- Area of specialization: Structural metal or steel, platework.
- Security and safety: Basic security clearance, drug test.
