Summary This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Industrial Department, Mechanical Group, Pipe Shop in Baltimore, MD. Responsibilities Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable member of the team. Typical duties include: Performing routine and common tasks following clear-cut instructions such as work orders, blueprints, bills of materials, and sketches. Laying out routine projects, taking measurements, and making templates, jigs and fixtures. Performing routine pipefitting tasks such as fabricating, installing, modifying, repairing and testing of piping and tubing made from iron, steel, brass, metal, copper, copper-nickel, stainless steel, and plastic. Using a variety of equipment and tools such as power hacksaws, power band saws, hydraulic pipe benders, grinding and drilling machines, pipe threading machines, test pumps, etc. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur...
