About The Program

The Physical Design Engineer Apprenticeship Program is designed for graduates who aspire to build a career in physical implementation and back‑end IC design within the semiconductor industry.

Program Structure

The programme consists of 1 month of intensive technical training followed by 3 months of On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a semiconductor company.

During the training phase at ASEM, Cyberjaya, you will gain practical exposure to:

• Physical design methodologies and implementation flow
• Floorplanning and power planning concepts
• Standard cell placement and optimization
• Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS)
• Routing and physical optimization
• Static Timing Analysis (STA) and timing closure
• Physical verification and design rule checking (DRC/LVS) fundamentals
