Job Description
General Definition Of Work
The employee in this position provides nutrition services to clients of the WIC Program. These services include conducting a basic nutrition assessment, determining eligibility for WIC, and education to clients on nutrition topics. Nutrition education is an essential part of WIC participation. Counseling is limited to basic food groups, simple dietary recommendations, and normal developmental eating patterns. This position plans and coordinates outreach efforts to help increase caseload. Duties of this position also include clerical support and administrative functions.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Specialized knowledge and skill in comprehensive nutrition assessment and care planning, including problem diagnosis, counseling, and evaluation of clients from diverse backgrounds, ages, and with multiple and complex health and therapeutic nutritional needs.
