Job Description
Support the City of Swift Current as a full-time Parks Maintainer. Engage in essential outdoor work, caring for parks, cemeteries, and sports fields throughout the year.
This temporary, full-time position in the Community Services Division begins in September and runs through May 2027. Under the guidance of the Parks Superintendent, you will maintain city parks, playgrounds, and related properties. Responsibilities include lawn care, applying herbicides, and operating outdoor ice rinks during winter shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and beautify city parks and green spaces
• Operate and care for equipment like mowers and trimmers
• Fertilize, aerate, and apply herbicides to turf
• Open and close interments in local cemeteries
• Maintain outdoor ice rinks efficiently during winter
Requirements:
• Driver’s abstract required annually
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check needed
• Experience with small gas-powered equipment
