Job Description
Cando is seeking a dedicated Switchperson/Locomotive Operator for dynamic outdoor rail car switching. If you have a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to safety, this role is for you.
In this challenging and rewarding position, you will ensure the safe operation of locomotives while working in a team-oriented environment. Your responsibilities include applying switching procedures, conducting daily locomotive inspections, and reporting any safety issues. We're looking for someone with strong organizational skills who thrives in an active atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct clear job briefings for locomotive operation
• Apply CROR Non-Main Track rules for switching
• Perform daily inspections of locomotives
• Complete reports and logs as necessary
• Support overall Cando operations and customer service
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or GED
• Previous industrial equipment operation experience
• Ability to lift and twist air hoses
