Job Description Saskatchewan Health Authority Saskatoon and University Saskatchewan, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology are seeking an Obstetrical Hospitalist to provide Obstetrical services in the recent Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH).
The Obstetrical service is multidisciplinary and has two in‑house obstetricians at all times and there are about 5,400 deliveries per year.
Responsibilities and Shift Details
- Unscheduled maternal/fetal assessments for urgent medical problems
- Assessment of acute change or deterioration of medical status of inpatients on the prenatal unit
- Management of labour and delivery of pregnant patients
- Management of antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum complications
- Provision of urgent caesarean section
- Supervision of learners, both postgraduate and undergraduate
- Huddle and patient management and flow
