Essential Functions Assists in food preparation for breakfast, lunch, field trips, and food bars. Follows recipes and measures required amounts of food and ingredients. Determines the appropriate equipment and appliances to use. Performs cleanup of dishwashing, cleaning tables and preparation areas, cleaning equipment and appliances, taking apart and reassembling equipment, and disposing of unsalvageable food and removing garbage from the kitchen. Serves food, including arranging food on trays, keeping food at appropriate temperatures, and apportioning serving sizes based on the requirements determined by the National School Meal Program. Assists food service clerks by operating the Point of Sale terminal, counting and distributing money, and preparing the daily deposits.
