Essential Functions
- Assists in food preparation for breakfast, lunch, field trips, and food bars. Follows recipes and measures required amounts of food and ingredients. Determines the appropriate equipment and appliances to use.
- Performs cleanup of dishwashing, cleaning tables and preparation areas, cleaning equipment and appliances, taking apart and reassembling equipment, and disposing of unsalvageable food and removing garbage from the kitchen.
- Serves food, including arranging food on trays, keeping food at appropriate temperatures, and apportioning serving sizes based on the requirements determined by the National School Meal Program.
- Assists food service clerks by operating the Point of Sale terminal, counting and distributing money, and preparing the daily deposits.
