VUMC Nurse Residency Program – Fall 2026 Cohort. Start Date: October 26.

Program Details
This 12-month program is ideal for new graduate nurses, or registered nurses with less than six (6) months of RN experience at the time of application.
Eligibility
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, or CNEA)
- Pass the NCLEX before the program start date
- Hold a BLS certification (must be active for at least 90 days after start date)
- Be able to work 36–40 hours per week full‑time during the first year
- A background check is required and must be completed prior to employment.
