Job Description
The Township of Essa is a dynamic and growing municipality with a current population of approximately 24,000, located in the heart of the County of Simcoe and southwest of the City of Barrie. Essa Township is currently seeking a highly motivated, strategic and dynamic individual to fill the vacant position of full‑time Municipal Law Enforcement Officer (MLEO). Reporting to the Manager of Legislative Services/Clerk, the MLEO is responsible for enforcing the Township’s By‑laws; conducting site inspections and gathering evidence in relation to issues of noncompliance of Municipal By‑laws (e.g.: untidy lots, canine control, noise, parking, etc.); responding to general inquiries and dealing with complaints; issuing tickets; preparing summons and court briefs; carrying out ongoing patrols and surveillance of the Township; and other such duties as assigned.
