In this role, you will promote independence through individualized instruction, working closely with school teams and families. The specialist will develop tailored mobility strategies, including spatial awareness and the use of adaptive equipment, to ensure students achieve success both in school and in their communities. Strong documentation and assessment skills are essential to monitor student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver one-on-one orientation and mobility teaching
• Instruct pre-cane and white cane techniques
• Provide training on electronic mobility aids
• Consult with parents and educators on mobility needs
• Adapt instructional materials into accessible formats
