As a Reversing Mill Operator at Steel Technologies, you will plan machines to mill steel, align parts and pieces for production equipment, set equipment controls, and monitor equipment. It’s important for you to be detailed and consistent in order to ensure only the best result for our customers. We rely on this position to continuously meet quality and customers standards.
Responsibilities
- Make mill set-up including work roll changes to ensure compliance with production instructions
- Reconcile coil identity to production and load coil
- Set-up Automatic Gauge Control (AGC) system
- Thread coil through mill, cropping non-compliance material
- Assure material compliance with all order instructions
- Document all inspection data
- Monitor coil for shape, finish, gauge (using AGC) running at maximum line speed to assure order compliance
