About the Opportunity
The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs analytical tests and procedures offered by the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The technologist works with both manual and automated tests and operates computer‑integrated, networked instruments. They compare results to pre‑established criteria and exercise independent judgment regarding reportability, working with little or no supervision, including in emergency and weekend/night situations. The role requires a tactful, sensitive approach to communicate productively in stressful environments while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technologist program.
- Licensed with NSRMLS or eligible.
- Registered with CSMLS.
- Willingness and ability to work shift work, including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to travel when required.
