Job Description

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Underground Mechanical Tradesperson will work closely with the Engineering Department to install, commission, overhaul and maintain mechanical infrastructure and plant and equipment at the mine. The role will work in collaboration with the Mechanical Supervisors, Outbye/Development/Longwall Engineers and Mechanical Engineering Manager. Reporting to the Shift Area Leader (Undermanager), your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct effective maintenance and fault-finding work on Mechanical systems

  • Monitor Mechanical equipment to ensure it remains in a fit for purpose and safe condition

  • Operate machinery as part of a multi-skilled workforce

    Essential Criteria

  • Underground Coal Mining experience or Relevant Heavy Industry plant experience
