Mechanical Project Engineer

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer in Birmingham for a tier 1 M&E contractor.

Responsible for the Mechanical aspects of the project from handover from the Estimating Dept. up to and including final account. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Project Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the Mechanical elements of the project are delivered on time, within budget, on quality, technically correct and fully functional.

Responsibilities

• Liaise closely with the Project Manager on all Mechanical facets to agree an early Mechanical strategy for the project.
• Take the lead (but always discuss with PM) with the procurement of Mechanical plant/equipment and sub-contract/specialist package orders. Prepare subcontractor enquiry documents in conjunction with the project QS and evaluate submitted bids for compliance with project requirements and commercial risk.
