Job Description
Job Purpose
The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for installing, maintaining, fault‑finding, and repairing mechanical machinery, plant equipment, and structural components. The successful candidate will ensure maximum equipment uptime and strict compliance with safety regulations to support continuous operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly & Installation: Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts and components to build or modify machinery.
- Routine Maintenance: Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and alignment systems.
- Breakdown Repair: Diagnose mechanical faults rapidly under pressure and perform emergency repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Technical Interpretation: Read, interpret, and work accurately from engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
