Mechanic Assistant

full time Vehicle and Mobile Equipment Mechanics, Installers, and Repairers

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Assist qualified Diesel Mechanics in servicing, repairing, maintaining, and inspecting diesel-powered vehicles, equipment, and components to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.

Duties:

• Assist with planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on diesel vehicles, engines, and mechanical components.
• Help disassemble, inspect, clean, assemble, and test vehicle and engine components under the guidance of a qualified Diesel Mechanic.
• Assist in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Support routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid level inspections.
• Assist with engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, cooling, and fuel system repairs.
