Materials Handler (Fork Lift Operator)

Summary The incumbent operates a fork lift to transport compressed bales of cardboard, magazines, newspapers, books and other materials compressed by a baling machine. The incumbent also receives and unloads incoming vendor shipments and assists with disposal of waste materials. This position requires a valid D.C. or State driver's license and a Certificate as a Powered Industrial Truck Operator to operate the Forklift in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.178 (l) (6). Responsibilities The tour of duty for this position is Monday – Sunday 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. This position is emergency essential - Depending on the type of emergency the employee may be required to report to work during emergency situations. Duties include, but are not limited to: Receive and unload delivery trucks and other designated conveyances.
