Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base in the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: May be filled as a term-limited appointment NTE 1 year and 1 day. Term appointments may be extended beyond six years, up to eight years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight years Responsibilities Operate a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, boring mills, milling machines, grinding machines, screw machines, radial drills, etc. Operate a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine (CNC in the automatic mode). Control machine feeds and speeds. Determine when the fixture, holding, device, cutting tool, or the setup is in need of adjustment.
