Job Description
Role: Linux Administrator – VMware Specialist Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer Unix/Linux servers primarily RHEL in production and non-production environments.
- Manage and support VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, clusters, resource pools, and virtual networking.
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning for Unix/Linux and VMware platforms.
- Implement and maintain security hardening, patching, and compliance standards (CIS STIG, internal controls).
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, OS, virtualization, networking, and storage issues, including application-to-database connectivity problems.
- Manage file systems, storage allocations, disk partitioning, LVM configurations, volume expansions, and mountpoint restructuring.
- Automate operational tasks using Bash, Python, Perl, or configuration management tools; Ansible preferred.
