Learning Support Assistant (ASD)

We are working with a primary school in Kingswood who are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their support staff team to work in Key Stage 2 to support a child who has an ASD diagnosis.

Specific requirements of the post include:

• Forming a positive relationship and responding to the child’s individual needs as appropriate

• Supporting the child to integrate and participate in class activities

• Breaking down the task to make it accessible

• Liaising with outside agencies relating to specific programmes of support

• Keeping accurate records of achievements, progress or concerns

• Forming trusting professional relationships with parents/carers

• Working closely with the class teacher and job share partner, SENDCO and year group team

• Supporting the pupil alongside their peers at lunch time
