Job Description
Lead Soldering Engineer
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering head, this position leads a team of engineers and technicians to oversee all activities related to soldering processes and machines, including design, setup, qualification, implementation, and control of soldering processes from new products to end‑of‑life products targeting zero soldering defects. Other tasks include equipment maintenance, process improvement, new process and machine identification, and standardization.
Responsibilities Lead a soldering team of engineers and technicians for all wave soldering processes and machines. Involve early in NPI to ensure new products have high manufacturability, bring up products with design compatible with existing soldering capabilities, or identify new process and equipment to satisfy challenging designs focusing on DFM, PFMEA, and process qualification while meeting quality and cost requirements.
