Overview

The laboratory technologist provides support and assistance for staff and students by ensuring labs are prepared for staff and ready for quality student learning. Duties include all aspects of lab set up, specimen acquisition and preparation and lab take down. The successful applicant will recommend the purchase of capital, materials, and supplies, maintain inventories and required documentation, and stay informed of changes in laboratory practices, materials and equipment. The laboratory technologist will be aware of workplace hazards and participate in establishing and enforcing safe work practices in the laboratory. Some travel may be required.
